Oscar Employees Celebrate Milestone Anniversaries!

Oscar’s Matthew Southworth and Adam Underwood celebrate 11 and 10 years of working at Oscar respectively.

Director Southworth has worked with Oscar for 11 years, having joined as a Graduate Trainee on what is now the Manchester-based recruiter's School of Excellence programme. Since then, he has played a significant role in the growth of Oscar’s Technology team and, in 2015, became a part of Oscar’s Global Management Team.

Training Manager Underwood is also celebrating a milestone anniversary. Adam joined Oscar 10 years ago as a temporary member of staff to upgrade the company's IT systems.

Whilst doing so he decided he would like to enter the world of recruitment consultancy himself and since then his career progressed into playing a key role in monitoring the team’s delivery and efficiency. After an assessment in 2013, Adam became Oscar’s in-house Training Manager and is now an integral part of the team.

Their anniversaries coincide with the latest "graduation ceremony" of Trainees within the Manchester office. A long-standing Oscar tradition, Graduation afternoons celebrate becoming a fully fledged Recruitment Consultant, and Trainees are treated to an all expense paid meal and afternoon out of the office.

Following recent changes to Oscar's School of Excellence Trainee Programme which have been implemented by Underwood, including a Fast-Track for promising Consultants, Trainees are now "graduating" 120% faster than in 2015.

Director Andy Morrell said, “I’m extremely proud to have worked with Matt and Adam for such a long period of time.

"Both joined us after completing their Masters degrees and have forged strong careers within Oscar being two of the main driving forces of our success over the past decade. Matt is a £1m+ biller who rose through the ranks to not only run our biggest team, but is now also a shareholder and Director of Oscar.

Adam’s career quickly moved away from recruiting into training and has had a profound positive effect on every single graduate of our School of Excellence that he runs.”

Oscar is currently looking to hire more talented and ambitious Trainees and experienced Consultants to join their Technology and Energy recruitment teams in Manchester and Houston.
