My client, a consultancy business, are looking for a Arista Senior Implementation Engineer for an initial 6 month contract. The role requires someone who has Arista experience/certification.

The role is OUTSIDE of IR35 and is paying £500 P/D.

Required Skills

  • Assess Design and own design recommendation without relying on Vendor in particular as it applies to an Arista based network deployment
  • Demonstrate integral knowledge in networking and firewall technologies of varying vendors and be able to apply the knowledge of these methodologies to the customer's environment.
  • Ability to respond to urgent customer needs quickly and concisely for assistance in network and systems issues while adhering to established change management procedure guidelines.
  • Will have significant experience with various Firewall Technologies including implementation and operational support for Fortigate, Sonicwall, and Palo Alto firewall models.
  • Substantial experience with various Networking (Routing/Switching) Technologies including implementations and operational support for Arista(Must), Cisco(preferable), Dell, and Juniper devices.
  • Responsible for configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of dynamic routing protocols: BGP, OSPF & EIGRP.
  • Provide network operations to assure reliable and robust performance of the network, including general support network in coordination with the Network Services team.
  • Provide guidance regarding device and circuit down alerts, issues with network congestion, user performance issues, network latency, voice issues, remote access issues, and network security.
  • Provide network service requests to network access, VLAN changes, network switch and router performance, upgrades to existing hardware and software and remote access, and wireless AP deployments.
  • Assess the current infrastructure solutions in use by our current and new customers providing recommendations for optimization and consolidation.
  • Evaluate customer needs based on requirements, current capacity, and growth trends.
  • Deliver engineering specifications, assist with functional specifications, and collaborate on technical designs and specifications for projects and initiatives.
  • Estimate effort to determine a course of action for a project.
  • Work closely with external vendors and other personnel to optimize and facilitate the best solution to meet the needs of the business.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support services for customers in a highly complex environment.
  • Maintain technical awareness of developments within the network and security technology industry and evaluate the applicability of those developments to needs of the company and our customers.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience within an MSP, VAR, ISP, NOC, or enterprise IT environment.
  • Active arista ACE level 5 or above is a must
  • 10+ years of experience with network and security technologies, to include, but not limited to: Arista(Must), Cisco, Juniper switching and routing devices, Fortigate, Checkpoint, Sonicwall, and Palo Alto firewalls etc.
  • Extensive knowledge with TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, IPSec, SNMP, STP, VTP,
  • The ability to determine the information necessary to strategically assess market situations, as well as the ability to evaluate and determine optimal plans of action is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation are necessary. Active listening skills are required.
  • Excellent influencing and consultative skills with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues and opportunities.
  • The ability to determine the information necessary to strategically assess market situations, as well as the ability to evaluate and determine optimal plans of action is essential.
  • A degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field.

Desirable Background and Skills

  • Programming background in any applicable language (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Perl, Bash, etc.).
  • Familiar with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, or Google Apps.
  • Active CCNP \ CCIE certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the integration of hyper-converged systems, such as: VxRail, Nutanix, Microsoft Azure Stack HCI, etc. within an infrastructure and an understanding of how each component affects an environment
