You will work with the Cloud Engineering team at this local government on their wide variety of systems and applications that service millions of people in the local public. Having begun their cloud journey and migrating all systems to Azure Cloud Services whilst collaborating with external parties, they are looking to bring all of this work in house and build their central expertise, all working to cloud native principles.
You architect, design, build, implement and migrate the cloud and security infrastructure on the Azure platform. You implement their CI/CD pipelines and processes correctly, using Azure DevOps, and apply best practices for the Infrastructure as Code building blocks that the product and platform teams develop. You also automate the provisioning of Azure services and apply a Source Code repository with Git. Finally, you coach the teams in the agile/scrum way of working and help them work according to the principles of DevOps.
To be able to do this well, you work closely with the application owner and his BizDevOps scrum team. This ensures that the application can land on the Azure public cloud according to the right principles. From your own experience, you are independently able to bridge the gap to the teams and guide them to start using the Azure platform.
In building out their Cloud Centre of Excellence, your team is responsible for defining the roadmap, standards, and architecture of the expertise/standards, and supporting recruitment and training. The COE is developing and growing rapidly in the start-up phase. They work according to agile / SAFe principles and the Microsoft Cloud Centre or Excellence recommended practices.
What do you need?
- 3+ years' experience in building Azure cloud environments.
- Ideally you have Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) and Microsoft Certified Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) certification
- Infrastructure as code development in ARM experience
- Automation skills with PowerShell
- Skills working with various Azure DevOps services, particularly CI/CD
- Applying a Source Code repository using Git.
- Fluent in Dutch
