Vacancy: CFO (Chief Financial Officer)

Location: Remote but with expectations of fairly frequent face to face meetings in York / Yorkshire area certainly initially.

Package: £70,000 - £80,000 depending on experience plus benefits including share options, flexible working, 32-35 days holiday including 2 full weeks over Christmas & paid volunteer days

The Role

This is a crucial hire and a unique opportunity to join one of the fastest growing technology businesses in the north of England. They are looking for a commercially minded CFO or Financial Controller looking to take that next step with full autonomy and join the board of directors in a leading role for the next phase of their journey. You will be solely responsible for driving their financial planning and performance through extensive analysis and strategic decision. It will be your job to determine if and when they should seek external funding in order to support growth, and then to take them through that process. You will have one direct report already in place and will be responsible for delegating to them and external accountants / payroll administrators. You will need to be an extremely proactive individual with the ability to prepare reliable and accurate forecasts and support the subsequent strategic decision making.

CFO (Chief Financial Officer) role requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role as a CFO or financial controller ideally in a digital agency or professional services where you have experience in a business that bills people out.
  • A desire to be at the very top of a growing technology business
  • Commercially minded and focussed on growth
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to grow and nurture key external relationships.
  • Relevant financial qualifications.
  • Any experience in the following will be highly beneficial; M&A experience, experience of expanding overseas, raising capital and running an incredible tight ship internally (ideally in the digital sector).
