Development Manager | Utility-Scale Renewable Energy | Denver, REMOTE

The Company:

This developer, owner & operator of utility-scale solar, wind, and BESS projects has 2,000+ Mw of installed capacity and 100+ projects in the development pipeline expected to commercialize within two years. As a portfolio company with significant (and theoretically unlimited) financial backing, their long-term asset ownership strategy & investment structure has led to an impressive mix of rapid & sustainable growth.

The Role:

They are seeking multiple Development Managers to identify & secure new renewable energy project sites to contribute to an already robust project pipeline. By negotiating land agreements, managing interconnection requests, & evaluating the viability of potential project acquisitions and strategic partnerships, the Development Manager will play an integral role in the company's continued success.

This role offers a 100% remote position, but candidates in Denver are highly preferred (Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, & Chicago are also options).

  • Lead site selection and market analysis for greenfield development
  • new land lease acquisition and management of existing landowner relationships on existing projects
  • manage environmental assessments and the external consultants involved in it
  • manage the interconnection process alongside of internal stakeholders and consultants
  • Liase with internal technical resources such as engineering, energy analysis, and operations, and the finance department when determining project financial viability
  • Direct resource management campaigns & energy production estimates
  • facilitate and prepare responses to RFPs

Qualifications:

  • a degree in Engineering, with an MBA being a plus
  • STRONG permitting & greenfield real estate acquisition experience
  • minimum 3-7 years of energy project development experience, preferably in the renewable energy field
  • Knowledge of US power markets, utilities, interconnection issues, and PPAs
