Vacancy: DevOps/Cloud Engineer

Location: Gelderland & Utrecht, Netherlands

Skills: AWS, GCP, Azure, Linux, Windows, Bash, Python, Shell, Ruby, Java, Angular, Powershell, Ansible, Jenkins, Bamboo, Puppet, Chef, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Elastic Search, Bitbucket

Salary: €48,000 - €72,000

Role:

As a DevOps Engineer at this company, your role will be to continuously improve the infrastructure of businesses, develop and deploy cloud environments, automate all that can be automated, help engineers work more efficiently and improve the DevOps tools that the company already deploys. Just like any business, mistakes do occur, and it is your job to be proactive and to support the teams and find innovative solutions to help customers with their digital transformations.

Unlike many consultancies, this is the opportunity to work on greenfield projects and build brand new environments entirely, but to do this, you will need to remain at the forefront of technical innovations and developments and use them in your daily work.

Skills: AWS, GCP, Azure, Linux, Windows, Bash, Python, Shell, Ruby, Angular, Powershell, Ansible, Jenkins, Bamboo, Puppet, Chef, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Elastic Search, Bitbucket

The Company:

This company are one of the most well respected businesses in DevOps, Cloud and Infrastructure engineering, with over 140 engineers working for them across the Netherlands, predominantly within DevOps, but also with strong software engineering and Data teams to allow them to offer full solutions. Having been operating for over 15 years, they possess a large network of leading clients within high tech, energy, finance, telecoms, hosting, rail and retail working with bleeding edge technologies on complex projects. Gone are the days that you have no say in your projects also; you will get the opportunity to decide the areas that appeal to your interests and career goals.

If you're looking for somewhere to grow your skills and education, this is the place for you. You are assigned time and budget to continuously learn new skills within their tailored development plans that take place at their onsite academy with industry renowned trainers, where you can obtain certifications thereafter. Your assignments will then be tailored to allow you to use these skills in practice! To keep things tailored even further, you will also never be required to travel more than one hour away from where your place of residence is.

Their collaborative nature means your knowledge will be stimulated by organising meet-ups, often by external professionals, but also by your colleagues, and if you're lucky, even abroad! Other benefits include a permanent contract from day one, a lease allowance up to €900 and a fuel card, a laptop of your choice, a high pension scheme, acquisition of student debt, and your 8% holiday allowance on top of your base salary!

Skills: AWS, GCP, Azure, Linux, Windows, Bash, Python, Shell, Ruby, Angular, Powershell, Ansible, Jenkins, Bamboo, Puppet, Chef, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Elastic Search, Bitbucket

Requirements:

  • Strong commercial experience as a DevOps/Cloud engineer is preferred, but work with similar principles is also sufficient (Site Reliability, System Engineer, maybe even a Software Engineer!)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, building CI/CD pipelines, automation, containers, cloud development (you know the drill…)
  • Expertise with Linux and all surrounding flavours is a huge bonus
  • Affinity with at least one scripting language and ideally programming skills too
  • Team experience and an ability to work in a collaborative Agile environment
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English
  • A constant desire to learn new technologies and continuously improve
