Human Resources Advisor

We are no ordinary company; this is no ordinary role, and you aren't an ordinary HR professional.

Why?

In 2020 Oscar were the highest ranked of all recruitment businesses in the prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 companies to work for (and 9th of all companies nationally under 250 staff).

We've been lucky (and smart) enough to have grown through this awful pandemic; with blood, sweat, online cocktail making, home deliveries, zoom yoga, flexible working, fantastic client relationships and an unrivalled spirit we pulled together more than ever before and have continued to execute our plans with fervour.

2021 started with a bang as we moved to our new global HQ in Manchester city centre to the most sustainable building in the city (Windmill Green - check it out on instagram).

We have just been awarded 5th Best company to work for in the UK on the Best companies List as well as the best small Recruitment agency to work for in the UK and the Fastest growing Recruitment business in the North West. It is no coincidence that we are more than doubling our floorplate & this is reflective of our ambition for the next few years.

As well as our office in Manchester we also have offices in Houston, Austin, Philadelphia and Tampa, Florida. There is A LOT going on; fast paced & dynamic would be serious understatements. This is not without direction nor is it fly by night, but we are agile & opportunity spotters.

We will treat you well & look after you. You will become part of the family & you will be recognised for your achievements in our meritocracy.

Being transparent we are demanding too; reading the above you will see we are ambitious and our environment is key to our growth - you will be the guardian of our culture & champion of both the mental & physical wellbeing of our team.

We seek someone with a passion for your craft; professionalism, knowledge & commercialism with a penchant for pragmatism.

Our environment is a performance culture, but is values led. This means at times you may be counsellor, confidant & body of support so empathy, understanding & great listening skills are a must. We retain a wonderful psychologist to help our staff with life skills, resilience & mindfulness - an interest in this area would be brilliant.

Organisation has to be your middle name; you never miss a beat - spreadsheet, trello or pad & pen, you are granular. You will want to do great things!

You will work in our "People Dept" and be a pillar for our Head of People; you will also work closely with key stake holders including the CEO & Directors, so you must be comfortable dealing with time-short, busy (but nice!) people if you are to enjoy the role.

We believe that being qualified to CIPD Level 5 & having experience working for a multi-site organisation would help you hit the ground running, but if you possess the qualities above in abundance without these, please do not worry.

Day to day duties are varied & great but you have the support of an experienced administrator for a lot of the admin.

General duties include:

  • Onboarding new starters & Inductions
  • Offboarding leavers
  • Sickness absence monitoring and reporting
  • Processing internal transfers between offices including processing E2 visa applications for USA
  • HR Admin - Including promotion/ pay increase letters, contracts, onboarding emails
  • Administering Company Pension Scheme, Health Cash Plan, Life Assurance and Length of Service Awards
  • Supporting Employee Wellbeing initiatives and programmes
  • Manage HR System (HiBOB)
  • Provide advice and guidance on Health and Safety as well as performing Risk Assessments
  • Responsible for Employee Relations
  • Provide advice and guidance to senior leadership team on legislative regulations and changes to Employment Law
  • Review, Update and Administer new Policies and Procedures as required
  • Monthly payroll checks alongside Finance Director
  • Liaise with 3rd Party Benefit and Service providers
