Salary - Up to £30,000 plus package

One our longest standing clients has a huge program to improve and develop their Data & Analytics department and there are now multiple hires looking to be made - including a number of Junior Data Analysts.

These roles are with a large, well-known Manchester based business who have a large Data Team. There is a huge amount of training, support and mentoring available in this position

Their office is in a great location, very accessible by all public transport links in Manchester. The role is offered on a hybrid working pattern, 2 days a week in the office.

These positions are working for a Hiring Manager that we know well as we placed them with this business a few years ago. I do believe that this is one of the key selling points of this position, this person has a huge focus on learning, development and self-improvement and they have transformed these elements within this business during their tenure.

The Role

The data department essentially design and develop new data products and then use them to produce business critical insights across a huge range of business areas. In total there are more than 30 people in the team so there is a huge learning opportunity.

There are roles in both areas - the design of Data Products and then the Analytical use of these.

Both areas use Python as their primary programming language therefore we are looking at this level for some experience from academia or training courses. They will further develop these skills with training courses. You need to have a desire to learn and develop your skills.

In this role we can certainly consider a STEM graduate - these are effectively entry level roles, we could also consider someone who has used some Python in their role and is looking further develop their career.

Key Duties - you will be doing some of all of the below

  • Using statistics to solve complex business problems in various domains
  • Building and integrate data analytics products
  • Undertaking comprehensive exploratory data analysis, building engaging visualisations, validated against available data and expert judgement
  • Evaluating data outputs prior to their use across the business.
  • Being a data expert across multiple projects, assuring the quality of data used
  • Surfacing key evidence-backed insights from data and produce visualisations
  • Using statistics and business domain experience to solve complex business problems in the specific area
  • Providing clear, actionable recommendations from insights, formed through collaboration consideration and well-reasoned hypothesis
  • Embedding data analytics products in operational processes and decisions
  • Writing and reviewing SQL and Python code, aligned to current team best practices

Requirements - What do we need?

  • Python - you will need some ground in Python - either from Education or from training courses
  • STEM Background
  • Analytical Background
