Role - Oracle Developer

Skills - PL/SQL / ETL / MySQL

Location - Manchester - 60% remote working.

Salary - Up to £65,000 - dependant on experience.

We have a new role for an Oracle Developer who would like to gain additional skills and experience, particularly with MySQL and some aspects of Database Administration. You will be joining an existing team of 7 Database Developers and Administrators.

Across the team there is a variety of skill sets so we can be fairly flexible on this person, we would welcome applicants from Oracle Developers, Oracle DBA's and MySQL DBA's as the role will cover all database systems. The right candidate would be someone who is used to working with other DBAs, architects and developers to deliver innovative solutions and solve complex problems.

The Role

You will be working on a new platform has been built developed over the last two years (at a cost of £30million) and will provide 24/7 service. This is a cutting edge, high availability system - the platform will have millions of users and hundreds of thousands of transactions every day. This is a complex system and we are looking for a talented developer to join the team.

You will be responsible for developing, testing, improving, and maintaining new and existing database and ETL code to help users retrieve and process data as efficiently and effectively as possible. As part of the database team, you will work closely with other developers to ensure system consistency and performance. Ultimately, in this role exists to ensure the database code is clean and runs effectively and securely.

About You

For this role we are looking for an experienced database developer to design stable and reliable PL/SQL code within the databases with experience in ETL. You will also need to pick up new skills along the way such as MySQL and training can be provided. They have a lot of skills in house and will be able to bring you up to speed using internal resources over a few months.

You will be expected to take part in the on-call rota along with the rest of the team. You will be on call once a month and this can be very flexible - it is compensated.

For this role they can be very flexible with working patterns, some office time is expected (Manchester City Centre) but they are able to offer some remote working - 2/3 days a week.
