Product Owner - CRM
Largely remote working, with 1 day per week in the office.
Oscar Technology are exclusively partnered with one of our growing financial services clients based in Bolton, assisting them on a search for a Product Owner to own the technical roadmap for the CRM platform that the business operates around.
The role would join the business during a period of extensive investment in their technology offering. Led by a CTO with a brilliant track record of delivering change within digital businesses, they have been transitioning to an Agile-based delivery model, with Squads operating around a Product Owner who sets the technical roadmap and manages backlogs.
This role would be working with Development teams looking after a .NET-based CRM platform, which is used by Advisor, Sales & Marketing teams, consuming APIs from third parties, but also sharing data with others.
Our client are a market leader in a niche area of Consumer lending, producing a very customer centric service that whilst it leans on technology, does retain a big human touch. They are on something of a transformational journey, where they have made big strides to evolve their technology stack towards a microservices architecture and the delivery into a Product-based model, as part of Agile adoption. Think of this as a bit of start-up type culture within an established business.
A bit about the role
This Product Owner hire will own the product roadmap for the CRM platform. Day-to-day, you are managing backlogs of work for the development team, but also performing discovery work, writing user stories and working with Technical Leads to determine what work becomes priority. The large portion of our clients platform is developed in-house with some support coming from a 3rd party. Their CRM also consumes a number of third party API's whilst also integrate with ID & Fraud verification products.
Your role will essentially shape the internal user experience, but also marry that up with the B2C offering, so you'll be using data to track user behaviours, but also feedback sessions to understand the impact of your changes.
In addition, you'll be working alongside another squad that are developing their B2C mobile applications, which integrates with the CRM system.
Alongside this you will also be helping to push out good product behaviours within the technology function and into the wider business, so you need to know what good looks like!

What you'll need
- Roughly a minimum of 2 years Product Ownership experience - tech products OR worked in a Business Analyst or Delivery role where you manage backlogs
- Demonstrable experience of creating & managing product backlogs
- Good knowledge of Atlassian tools
- A data-driven, analytical approach to problem solving
- A real can-do attitude!
- A delivery focused mindset. You are not too precious if something not delivered in a 'textbook product' fashion in the early days
