QA Manager - £75,000 - Bolton + Hybrid working.

You could be part a company creating the world's smartest subscription & billing platform. Working with a range of clients in the Publishing, TV & Entertainment, Sport, and Retail Industries.

Your responsibilities will include.

  • Leading the Quality Assurance team comprising of both manual testers and automation engineers; supporting them to ensure high quality in industry leading software that delivers high value solutions that exceed client expectations.
  • You will build a high performing team by making sure that all training and support that team members require is delivered and you will establish best practice for the team
  • You will have a 'continuous improvement' mentality.
  • You will proactively engage with the Product, Account Management and Project Management teams to ensure commitments relating to quality are achieved.
  • You will work with stakeholders to make sure that the training, tools, and processes required are defined and in place to ensure that our quality is market leading.


  • Experience in a management position, responsible for building, motivating, and leading high performing quality teams.
  • Proven experience of automation tools, automated framework and test suite best practices are essential
  • Extensive experience of establishing a quality programme for a large, complex collection of software solutions.
  • Experience of managing senior stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation.
  • The ability, gained from experience, to set up a training programme for the quality function that covers the full range of testing techniques.
  • Experience in setting robust quality control gates right throughout the system development life cycle.
  • Experience in root cause analysis of quality faults and tracking such problems to resolution.
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure the right processes, tools and reporting is produced to properly evidence quality right throughout the process.
  • Ability to demonstrate influencing and negotiating skills to align a number of potentially conflicting views with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sets challenging team and individual objectives and trusts people to get on with them, shares clear expectations about required performance levels, rewards success and addresses performance issues quickly and fairly, treats team members with honesty, respect and compassion. Implements HR processes where suitable.
  • Working with the team to define a comprehensive regression testing programme that is executed on each release.
  • Can define and set a vision along with the plan which needs to be implemented to meet the end goal. Evaluates situations, takes accountability for decisions, issues, etc. in the short, medium, and longer-term.
