The role

This is an opportunity for a WordPress Developer (PHP and WordPress) to come on board and join a business that help provide business' top digital solutions, focussed on delivering the future! You will be involved in the development of several exciting bespoke development projects, large-scale enterprise websites and web applications and a variety of other projects from international community hubs right through to enterprise e-Commerce projects across the globe. As a WordPress Developer (PHP and WordPress), you will both research, develop and test new features and functionality, as well as build websites from the ground up.

As well as this, you will support the team in their continued learning and development through sharing experiences, mentoring skills and acting as a mentor and coach within the development teams. You will lead the development of projects and you will also be responsible for leading architectural decisions and choosing approaches to ensure that the team maintains standards and delivers high quality software.

Day to day, you'll get involved with:

  • Develop new functionality and choose plug ins using your WordPress knowledge to excel clients expectations
  • Help build enterprise WordPress solutions
  • Participate in code reviews and lead pair programming activities
  • Attend and contribute to sprint and client meetings
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the business to contribute to both your career and the success of the business
  • Bring your A game and act as a mentor to the development team encouraging people to be the best they can be and adopt a winning mindset

Requirements for the role:

  • 3-5+ years' experience working with WordPress and PHP
  • Worked on projects that required custom plug in development
  • A strong understanding and experience of working with modern PHP
  • An understanding of web performance and its importance

Desirable:

  • Experience in creating unit tested solutions
  • Clean coding practices (SOLID etc.)
  • eCommerce solution development using WooCommerce
