Role - BI Developer

Location - Manchester (Urmston / Trafford Area)

Salary - Up to £55,000

Work Pattern - Hybrid - 2 Days a week in the office

We have a brand-new role for a BI Developer for a growing company based in Manchester. They are in the Urmston / Trafford area of Manchester, very close to a Metrolink station and they have free parking available too.

They are using cutting edge technologies within BI (outlined below) but we are looking to strong technical developers within the MS BI Technology Stack and they will upskill in some of these technologies.

There are actually 2 roles available, but the 2nd position is more of a PowerBI / Modelling role. This position is also advertised.

This position is offering on a hybrid working pattern with a flexible working hours policy, you would be working 2 days a week in the office. They have a brand-new office, recently refurbished and it's a great space.

The Role

We are looking for ideally multiple BI Developers with skills across the MS BI Technology stack. They have a Brand-New Data Warehouse which are looking to optimise and essentially start to get the most out of this. They have some huge growth plans for this area which includes use of Data Bricks, Logic Apps and a Data Lake.

This role could progress quickly to a Lead BI Developer, and you would have the option to manage people if you wanted to.

  • Design of database applications and optimisation of Data Warehouse
  • ETL - design and development of packages
  • Data migrations
  • Data Modelling - normalised data models and dimensional data models
  • SQL - complex stored procedures and views
  • Development of a data management strategy, management of database processes.
  • Analysis of data through appropriate methods - models, trends, statistics etc.
  • Deployment, configuration and setup of applications
  • Design user requirement and specifications - in conjunction with business analysts.
  • Data Governance

The Company:

This is a well-known organisation with superb products that are sold around the world. They have had a huge amount of investment in IT generally but particularly in BI. They have migrated to the cloud (Azure) as well as creating development plans that last several years.

They have invested heavily in a newly refurbished office space and have upgraded their benefits package which now included a performance bonus.

  • SQL
  • SSIS / ETL
  • PowerBI or reporting experience.
  • They have Azure within the business - any skills in this area would be advantageous but not essential

They can provide training in Azure Data Factory / Azure DevOps.
