The Role

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a career-driven and natural born leader to play an integral role of leading the support function at the UK's Largest Car Buying Service. The role is based in their head office in Middleton, Manchester, with the expectation for you to go into this office 3 days a week. As a Service Desk Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing the support team work load, mentoring the team and any new starters to get them to the required skill level, and help manage the escalation of incidents to other teams and work as a liaison to ensure issues are resolved quickly.

You will play an integral role in contributing to the efficiency of the business and support team. You'll need to be enthusiastic and have a good management ethos as you will be communicating with all levels of staff. You will have to be self-motivated and enjoy working in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment, with the flexibility to get the job done. You will be working closely with the Head of Support and Infrastructure, to whom you will be reporting to. As well as leading the support team and being the vital line of communication between the service desk and head of infrastructure, you will also play a hands on role in taking telephone, direct and email queries relating to the IT systems and taking ownership of the ticketing system (including patches, categories, notifications etc.)

Service Desk Team Lead requirements:

  • Team leadership experience including day to day management and reviews.
  • SQL reporting solutions, E.g. PowerBI / Crystal Reports / SSRS Etc…
  • Organisation and prioritisation of tasks and team
  • Ability to liaise with all staff levels and ensure expectations are met
  • Microsoft Windows 10
  • Microsoft Office / Office 365
  • PC hardware
  • File and directory permissions
  • Network diagnostics & troubleshooting
  • Basic TCP/IP networking / Simple router config

The candidate should be able to demonstrate the IT Skills they have gained.
