Role - Senior BI Developer

The Role

We are kicking off the search for a BI Developer for a well-established company based in Doncaster.

You will be working as part of a small team included other BI Developers and Data Engineers, all reporting to their BI Manager. We have placed people before in this team and understand is a great place to work.

They have some major projects that they are currently working on, they have a new data warehouse which they are currently implementing and populating as well as a project to migrate all of their reports from Tableau and SSRS to PowerBI.

Duties will include designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that drive insights and improve decision-making across the organization. The role will also be required to lead on the implementation of a number of data projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, budget and to quality requirements. The roles may well include mentoring some more junior members of the team.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis with 2 days a week in the office (you can choose which days those are, there is no "set days" in the office) and salaries in the range of £45,000 - £55,000 plus benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the BI Manager to lead and deliver data initiatives as part of the delivery of the data strategy and roadmap,
  • Engage with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business problems and define technical requirements for BI solutions
  • Drive adoption of Power BI across the group, maximising ROI and customer satisfaction
  • Hands-on development of the data warehouse and ETL processes
  • Hands-on development of business reports and dashboards
  • Maintenance and optimisation of BI solutions to ensure the best user experience and engagement from the business.
  • Presentation of results to key stakeholders, articulating key trends and insights.
  • Champion BI excellence driving best practices in agile delivery, dashboard and report design, user experience, service delivery, data quality, testing, data visualisation, data security, technical architecture and design.

Requirements

  • SQL
  • SSIS / ETL - design and execution of ETL processes within any tool (Talent, Informatica etc.)
  • PowerBI or similar reporting / dashboarding tool
