Software Quality Engineer (IT) - Aerospace and Defence - West Drayton - up to £55k + huge benefits package + flexible hours

The Role:

I am working with a well-known global company that is a pioneer in the development of aircraft recording systems. They are seeking a Software Quality Engineer to add to their highly qualified team. The ideal candidate will be motivated and energetic, with excellent communication skills. Additionally, they are searching for someone who shares their enthusiasm for creating the best software there is, alongside a genuine interest in the aviation industry.

As a Software Quality Engineer, you will collaborate with people from many departments to build cutting-edge ground software for commercial aircrafts. You will create the organisational test policies, test strategies, and test plans in your capacity as a Software Quality Engineer. Wherever it is possible, you will create automated test plans and incorporate them with the CI/CD pipeline.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyse, develop, implement, and supervise the execution of the test cases, test processes, and test suites.
  • Schedule the tests for implementation, then track their progress, the product's quality status, and their findings. As conditions change, alter the test plan as necessary and make necessary adjustments.
  • Organise and assist with the design and execution of automated test processes.
  • Prepare System Engineering, Integration, and Test Plans.

The Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in Systems Engineering or a closely related discipline in the Avionics, Aircraft, and/or Aerospace Defense industries; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in using Python to develop automated test solutions.
  • Solid functional understanding of software structures, digital communication, and design portioning is required.
  • advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Visio, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
