The Role

  • Reporting to the QA Director, you will join a growing team of developers and testers working on an extensive, complex web application driven by microservices
  • You have solid knowledge of Agile principles and methodologies
  • You are focused on testability, robustness and performance of software development and testing practices
  • You will review functional and technical specifications, create test assets and test according to requirements
  • You will identify and accurately document defects in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • You will keep the team members informed of your progress and act immediately if issues arise and might impact the project's commitments and timelines
  • You will be working with multiple teams and are expected to work on multiple testing projects concurrently

Job Description

  • Occasionally you may be required to perform tasks outside your immediate QA Analyst role. It is expected that you are willing to undertake these tasks as part of a cohesive team. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Learn the product thoroughly to be able to understand and engage with problems effectively
  • Review and analyse specifications ensuring a thorough understanding of the business and technical requirements
  • Work closely with the developers and product owners to discuss and validate functional and technical requirements, then create and maintain the applicable test coverage, ensuring quality is built into the product in the first place
  • Write test plans and liaise with QA Leads for review and feedback prior to publishing readiness for testing
  • Liaise with QA Analysts and QA Leads to produce logical sets of prioritised test breakdowns, assessing resource requirements and deadlines for test executions
  • Identify valid test conditions, design and document relevant test scenarios and cases which will effectively and comprehensively exercise the software
  • Participate in all the agile ceremonies in accordance with the company practices
  • Set up and configure test environments in readiness for test activities, including test data. Maintain the integrity of the environments during defined execution.
  • Support the delivery teams by testing defect fixes, new features, and regressions, in line with the test plan and delivery schedule
  • Report test results clearly and accurately
  • Create tickets for issues that are identified, communicate and follow up with the issues, and ensure that these are either resolved or escalated to the appropriate team members
  • API testing experience, with Postman or similar
  • SQL and database-driven applications - hands-on experience with test data creation, SQL scripts, queries
  • Experience with Mongo DB
  • Linux terminal - experience running a web application locally, specifically using DockerJob


  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with cross-browser issues and strategies for cross-browser testing across multiple operating systems and platforms Nice to have:
  • Scaling & performance tools (Locust, JMeter, and similar)
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript, jQuery, NodeJS, JSON, XML technologies
  • Automation testing tools (Selenium, Ruby, Cucumber, and similar)
  • Experience working with JIRA, Zephyr and Confluence
  • Testing certification
