Technical Business Analyst - Agile / APIs / SDLC

Oscar Technology are partnering with a high-growth tech firm based in Manchester that are continuing to expand their Product teams and are looking to add another Technical Business Analyst to their team.

Reporting into a Lead Business Analyst, working within a Squad, your role will involve a lot of classic BA work around requirements gathering with stakeholders but also speaking with technology partners to map APIs and gain technical documentation.

This role would be joining a squad developing a super powerful communications platform, so you will play a key role in helping the engineering team understand how to integrate this platform with partner products. Your requirements & User Stories will be organised into a Product backlog by the Product Owner. This role will be varied and challenging, particularly at a point when the firm are continuing to mature Agile practices, so you'll be awesome at getting buy-in from stakeholders on how Agile benefits them, but also helping to coach other team members on Scrum, where possible.

Career Development

Business Analysts have several career paths available to them at our client; over the next 12-18 months as the BA team expands, a layer of more Senior BA roles is expected to open up; they are possibilities to move towards Product Owner positions. They are developing new positions for Scrum Masters so any Business Analysts that are interested in becoming a Scrum Master, this avenue is becoming an option too

Required experience

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Strong SDLC knowledge, ideally able to talk tech with developers & help to map API's for integration projects
  • Experience of turning requirements into User Stories & breaking those down into EPICS
  • Experience of Story Slicing
  • Good knowledge of Scrum
  • Good stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent consensus building skills
