A fun and vibrant company is seeking an experienced QA Test Lead - to lead and execute test plans and the approach for their product that contribute to quality software development and effective test strategies; enabling the teams to continuously deliver better software every day.

This team is very much a start-up culture and as such they are seeking a self-starter with the confidence to be a thought leader and champion for testing and quality assurance within the office and beyond; with the ability to communicate with peers, non-technical staff and senior leaders alike.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert for testing, UAT, platform and engineering practices
  • Contribute to overall software development and test strategies for the team and be a thought leader in these areas with the ability to create, adapt and execute effective test plans
  • Potential future line management of a team of testers working across several products and to support them in delivering and collaboratively improving the test strategy
  • Design and implement a suite of reusable and maintainable automated tests for key use cases and scenarios and maintain the automation suite in a logical and coherent state
  • Ensure that a concise and actionable set of real-time and periodic metrics is maintained and communicated regularly or is readily accessible to stakeholders, team members and senior leadership as appropriate
  • Great communicator with the ability to pair with developers to ensure a robust and well written suite of automated acceptance tests are developed collaboratively and standards are adhered to
  • Write, review and be accountable for clear, concise and comprehensive technical documentation
  • Create manual and/or automated test cases to verify the functional and non-functional requirements of a product
  • Creative and adaptable troubleshooter - finding critical bugs or verifying reported issues, identifying their root cause and seeing them through to resolution
  • Ability to anticipate problems, troubleshoot, and solve potential issues before they are able to affect customers
  • Influence others in improving quality at all levels of the development process and build pipeline and helping to lead the evolution of best practices at Revitalised
  • Push boundaries on test automation, exploratory testing and best practice at Revitalised
  • Adhere to the defaults principles for architecture, quality and non-functional requirements
  • Grasp new technologies and keep abreast of existing technologies and be able to apply

these to a variety of projects as applicable

  • Strong sense of knowledge of how to develop and design test infrastructure and test harnesses to hook into appropriate APIs
  • Experience of Agile programming, pairing and working within a collaborative team of developers, testers and product professionals
  • Experienced in programming in Java, PHP and JavaScript
  • Experienced in programmatic interactions with data formats such as JSON and XML

Key Skills

  • Strong communicator/experience of having challenging conversations - communicating status information and issues to a variety of stakeholders, adapting appropriately depending on the audience (complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience)
  • Deep understanding of the testing and technical domains and the ability to explain 'why?' a certain option is recommended
  • Producing descriptive, clear and concise plans, and exit reports for stakeholders
  • Supporting and leading change through experimenting and analysis to improve process
  • Team player with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Tenacity to overcome hurdles in both people and process
  • Leadership experience with the drive and insight to put the team first
  • Confidence/experience to work in a single Lead Role and positively challenge the wider team
  • Use of your development skills to identify areas of improvement between QA and

Development; creating bespoke, or integrate appropriate code solutions

  • Innovative, resourceful and collaborative with a passion for new challenges as well as understanding the current product domain to ensure business continuity
