The Role:

My client is searching for a WordPress Developer to join their ranks in London with an option for remote working where creative juices can flow freely and you'll utilise your expertise in WordPress, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, SEO, JIRA and GIT and Twig.

The company focuses on open source technology, Drupal and WordPress being their development and publishing platforms of choice. This is an company that is UX obsessed and user-led, digital design and delivery focused. You'll become part of a full-time team of twelve working with retail, arts/cultural, commercial as well as not-for-profit organisations and companies, collaborating with other developers, designers and project managers to deliver projects to these varied clients who all make a real and positive difference to the world. Here, you will be part of the open source revolution.

WordPress Developer Experience & Skills:

  • Create responsive site themes in php and twig templates / CSS and JS
  • Composer, Gulp & Webpack
  • Familiarity with Drupal 7 and 8 site building and theming, including commonly used core and contributed modules (where all drupal is in Twig)
  • Code-optimisation for accessibility, performance, security and maintainability.
  • Knowledge of web technologies
  • Experienced with Git and CLI tools e.g. WP-CLI & Drush
  • Understanding of structured data and SEO best practice
  • JIRA
  • Worked with clients directly
  • WordPress site theming/building, including commonly used plugins
  • Worked closely with other developers, designers and project managers
  • Web standards-focused and quality-oriented
  • Imaginative and able to tailor solutions to correspond with client budgets and deadlines

WordPress Developer Responsibilities

  • As a part of their CMS team, you'll develop new digital platforms from the ground up with Drupal and WordPress,
  • Work with lead developers, implementing features
  • Providing exstensions to existing Drupal platforms
  • Evaluating new technology and techniques to optimise products and processes
  • Providing client-support as part of the technical team
  • Contributing to internal projects to improve and/or create services
