Mobility was the key to technology in the 80s and 90s, with companies focusing on making tech more portable so it could be used away from the home or office.

Devices like the Game Boy, Walkman, Nokia phones were all part of this portable revolution, and allowed engineers to make advancements in improving power consumption efficiency, developing new battery types, reducing size, creating screens that were readable in a variety of light conditions, and even opening up the demand for tech accessories.

Though it's now easy to discount these technologies and boast about how far portable tech has come in recent years, it can't be ignored that all of these devices played a huge role in the creation of our modern day tech that we use everyday.
