My client is the UK market leader in audio visual services for a range of private and public-sector customers. Based in Sheffield, the business has seen significant growth over recent years and they are now looking to bring onboard a Product Manager / Product Owner.

The Role:

The Technical Product Manager will be responsible for ensuring the company's products and services meet the needs of the customers and the business. You will create an operational roadmap for the next 24 months of improvements, new features, and new products. You will be focused on the technology which our staff use to deliver our service to create plans for improvements and new features to boost competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for making sure products and services meet the needs of customers and the business
  • Inform the future of the company's products
  • Formulate and implement an operational and project roadmap for improvements, new features, and new products from scoping through to delivery
  • Maintain and work through a backlog of improvements, new features, and new products in line with operational and project roadmaps
  • Communicate the roadmap and forthcoming changes to the wider business and ensure they are successful adopted
  • Work and communicate with teams across the business to drive product development
  • Support the business where specifications and evaluations are required of new systems

You:

  • Previous experience delivering IT solutions in a technical role e.g. Software Developer, Business Analyst or similar
  • Prior experience of converting business/technical requirements into business use cases, stories, behaviours
  • Ability to work with the most appropriate development and project methodology with good knowledge and experience of both Waterfall and Agile approaches
  • Ability to understand and apply technical solutions to products
  • Proven track record in a similar technical product role
  • Worked on detailed project and operational plans and roadmaps from scoping through to successful delivery
  • Proactive approach that drives positive change
  • Good communication skills - ability to liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-growing environment
  • Experience collaborating across the business to deliver Products
  • Outstanding communications skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders
