Global Employee Relations Manager

A global not-for-profit organisation in Central London are looking for an interim Global Employee Relations Advisor for an initial 6-month engagement. The position is aligned to a large strategic business unit that has employees distributed in over 100 countries.

This role is based within an Employee Relations Team, which leads on global Employee Relations policies, frameworks and approaches with specific responsibility for employment policy, wellbeing and occupational health, industrial relations and specific support to overseas emergencies and security / conflict scenarios.

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:

  • Define the global framework for dispute resolution / mediation
  • Act as the bridge between the employees through consultation processes, where the case has been escalated by the Business to the Employee Relations Team
  • Manage conflict and grievance resolution for any complex cases and / or cases that go to tribunal, and lead on dispute mediation for those cases
  • Define policies and procedures around large scale redundancy processes and manage the processes as required
  • Consult with, and provide advice and guidance to, the Business and HR colleagues on employee relations matters, in order to ensure that the organisation is able to maximise motivation, performance and the achievement of individual and objectives.
  • Contribute to building a culture of innovation around employee relations across the organisation
  • Ensure all employee relations initiatives are underpinned by the values and HR frameworks and adhere to the organisation's Equal Opportunities and Diversity guidelines

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience as an Employee Relations Manager with a global remit
  • Exceptional stakeholder management & influencing skills
  • Negotiation and mediation skills
  • Exceptional communication & engagement skill
  • Ability to handle matters sensitively and confidentially
  • In depth knowledge of industrial relations policies, particularly in understanding the legal/regulatory framework surrounding HR in the UK
  • Employee Relations related qualification or equivalent

This position has been assessed prior to release and is deemed to be INSIDE IR35 guidelines.

Rate is £400/day (via Umbrella) or £321.29/day PAYE
