Project Manager

The purpose of the Business Change Project Manager is to manage the delivery of multiple Change projects and / or complex large scale Change projects with characteristics such as:

  • regulatory deadlines
  • internal and external suppliers
  • multiple phases
  • multiple workstreams (supported by multiple areas across the business)
  • impacts of a technical, process and organisational change nature.
  • In addition, the purpose of the Business Change Senior Project Manager is to:
  • work collaboratively to provide cover during period of unexpected absence
  • provide coaching and guidance to Business Change colleagues
  • provide leadership with regard to the improvement of change delivery capabilities (e.g. methods, standards, etc.).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the team by openly sharing previous experience and learnings
  • Working with stakeholders to prioritise, plan and deliver a portfolio of change
  • Leading the planning and resourcing of large scale projects / programmes ensuring that Business Change, IT and Business resources are allocated and aligned to deliver the project / programme within the desired timeframes
  • Supporting the Business Analyst with 'shaping' of projects as part of the overall delivery management of a number of large scale projects / programme
  • Producing and maintaining appropriate programme and project governance and documentation in line with the Change Delivery Framework
  • Creating and maintaining clear plans, setting out the necessary activities and accountabilities to achieve delivery
  • Take full ownership for the management of risks and issues, escalating when required
  • Producing timely, clear and concise reporting
  • Ensuring clear communication with key stakeholders (including Executive level) throughout the project lifecycle

Essential experience required:

  • Experience of working collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues including Exec / C-Suite level.
  • Proven track-record of Project / Programme management across multi work stream platform deliveries and / or platform migrations of varying scale, size and complexity.
  • Experience of planning, managing budgets and overseeing third-party suppliers in project / programme delivery
  • Experience of managing multiple projects at differing stages of the lifecycle

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • The ability to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple complex projects at once
  • Proven influencing & senior stakeholder management skills
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to manage, motivate and mentor others as well as collaborate across disciplines
  • Detailed knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile)
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of delivering change within a financial services organisation
  • Line management experience
  • Experience in a Senior Project Manager role
  • Skilled in use of MS Project or equivalent Project Management tooling


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (not essential)
