Position - Senior MI / BI Developer / Product Owner

Location - Central Manchester

Salary - from £40,000 to £45,000 depending on experience.

The Role

This is a brand-new role, created as the business wants to become more proactive rather than reactive when it comes to building out data products for use internally.

The company generates huge amounts of Data and has large, well established teams in BI & Reporting, Data Science and Engineer and Customer Analytics but there is still a large transformation on-going to deliver key data products to key stakeholders. They need to turn this data into useful, actionable insights and that is where this role comes in.

We are looking for someone to elicit those requirements, work with the stakeholders, prioritise and then work with the data teams to deliver against that brief. In particular this role has a focus on Business Intelligence Reporting and Data Warehousing. This role would really suit a BI Developer / MI Analyst who is looking to move into a less technical role.

This role sits in a team of 6 and reports to a Hiring Manager we at Oscar know well as we placed them in their current role. They would be a fantastic person to learn from and they have a strong focus on learning and development.

This role you will learn new skills and the position will take you out of your comfort zone and challenge you.

They can be very flexible in terms of working arrangements but there would be some office time (1-2 days a week).

  • Own the end to end experience for business reporting for our data warehouse platform
  • Play a key role in the development of the roadmap for the data platform and reporting solutions.
  • Act as a data evangelist within the organisation, by building relationships across the business with stakeholders and SMEs and demonstrating what data can do.
  • Balance the strategy, governance and implementation of data-related initiatives.
  • Set goals for the data platform which align with organisational vision.
  • Translate the requirements of large data initiatives into smaller, actionable workstreams, allocating resources for each initiative.
  • Act as a key curator of data within the business, responsible for the processes of collection, governance, storage, security and accessibility of all of our data, from raw data through to transformed business-facing data.
  • Be responsible for facilitating prioritisation of initiatives, ensuring clear communication of priorities.
  • Ensure that data is a primary consideration in all IT initiatives, representing data in the design and implementation of new projects.

About you

We are looking for a Data Specialist for this role, this role would really suit someone who has working in Data (Data Analyst, BI Developer, MI Analyst) or similar who would now like to take on a less technical and more product focussed role. We are looking for this person to have an understanding of data warehousing.

You need to care about Data and what it can do with a business and really be able to show stakeholders the power of data and be able to drive data led decision making.

We do not need loads of experience - this is more about the person and what they can bring to the table rather having a previous set of skills.

What's Next

If you are an experienced Data Professional interested in progressing your career with an organisation committed to innovating within Data & Analytics then we want to hear from you.

The application process for this role has already begun and interviews will be taking place shortly. To be considered, please send me your CV asap to avoid disappointment.
