The Role

This is a rare opportunity to become a hand's off Software Development Manager (AGILE) of a key core product that the company have developed, and are responsible for. You will play an integral part in shaping and moving the direction of the business technically and have a great opportunity to Lead IT Development projects, thus making a big impact on the business. In an ideal world, you will come from a technological background and have a strong knowledge of AGILE, and be a solutions focussed problem solver. You will be the 'key point of contact' regarding all things to do with this product and with this in mind, you should exercise and practice a proactive nature to all fellow employees of the business. You will be working alongside some key talented professionals and be liaising with professionals on a global scale, with places worldwide utilising this system. You will be working in a team of around 20 professionals made up of a variety of software analysts, testers, security, infrastructure and programmers thus giving you the opportunity to be exposed to a number of key roles within the business. You should have experienced the full software lifecycle on numerous occasions and with this in mind, be familiar with release management. You will be solely responsible for making estimations, coordinating and judging all IT deliverables- whilst pushing all projects on! Support will be at hand if you ever need it although, you will be your own boss in this role!

Essentials:

  • You should have a relatively technical background- whether you have been a Software Developer, or IT consultant previously. You will need to understand and have knowledge of technical concepts and have the ability to communicate those to a variety of audiences.
  • You should be well-presented and appear professional at all times.
  • You will have had experience working in an AGILE environment, and perhaps running and delegating stand ups etc. appropriately.
  • You will have exceptional project management skills - including release management of software.
  • You will have seen projects through the full software lifecycle on numerous occasions including making estimations, managing deliverables and coordinating.
