Support Engineer - Linux, Windows, Active Directory, Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

Support Engineer required by our North London based client who are a well established technology company, keen to grow their internal support function and to add another member to their technical team They are keen to employ a Support Engineer who has a strong working knowledge of Linux, Linux Servers, Windows, Active Directory, and Cloud Technologies (either AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

The Role

This is a great opportunity for a Support Engineer to join a growing company and take over responsibility for:

  • Desk side support
  • Troubleshooting
  • Software installations
  • Maintaining Linux servers
  • Face to face / remote support
  • Configuring alerts
  • Covering dashboards
  • VPN access
  • Supporting Developers

The role will require someone to work predominantly on Linux Servers / Systems (CentOS / RedHat or RHEL) and also Windows Systems / Servers. Daily tasks will include supporting users, assisting Developers with Linux box issues, supporting internal systems, user administration, executive support and managing company assets e.g. laptops / desktops. The role will require you to communicate with various personality types across the business so would suit someone who is able to communicate at different levels and happy working closely with other technical staff.

Role Requirements

  • Strong Linux knowledge (CentOS / RHEL / RedHat)
  • Strong Windows Server knowledge
  • Active Directory experience
  • Cloud technology experience covering AWS / Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud (beneficial)
  • Agile experience (beneficial)
  • Previous working experience of:
    • VPN
    • Dashboard configuration
    • Software installation
    • Server / Systems troubleshooting

  • Strong communication skills
  • Happy to work both as part of a team, and as an individual
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Used to managing multiple tasks at one time
