Founding Account Executive - Data SaaS | Remote (US, SF/NYC Preferred)
$125K-$150K Base Uncapped Commission (OTE $250K-$300K) Equity

We are partnering with a venture-backed SaaS startup that helps data and analytics teams turn information into actionable insights faster and more reliably. Their platform improves how organizations manage, govern, and leverage their data, solving common challenges around speed, accuracy, and scale.
With early customer traction and strong investor support, this is an opportunity to join as the first US sales hire and build the commercial motion from the ground up.
The Role
Our client is hiring a Founding Account Executive to take ownership of selling into mid-market and enterprise organizations. You will prospect, build pipeline, run demos, and close deals while developing the company's sales playbook.
You will design outbound strategies, refine messaging, and collaborate with the founding team on go-to-market priorities. You will be selling a technical product to senior decision-makers including C-level executives, which requires strong business acumen and credibility with technical buyers.
This role is well-suited for someone who thrives in lean startup environments, is comfortable selling without SDR or marketing support, and wants the opportunity to grow into sales leadership.
What You'll Do
Build and manage a pipeline of data and analytics prospects through outbound and networking
Run the full sales cycle from discovery through close
Sell into senior stakeholders, including CDOs, CIOs, CTOs, and data leaders
Translate complex SaaS value into clear business outcomes
Develop sales playbooks, outbound sequences, and positioning for target accounts
Share customer insights to influence product direction and roadmap
Lay the foundation for scaling the sales organization as the company grows
What We're Looking For
4 years of SaaS sales experience, ideally in data, analytics, or infrastructure software
Proven track record of closing mid-market and enterprise deals (six-figure ACV ideal)
Experience running full-cycle sales without SDR or marketing support
Comfortable selling to technical and executive-level buyers, including C-suite stakeholders
Entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, resourceful, and comfortable in lean environments
Strong communicator with the ability to influence both technical and business audiences
Location: Open to candidates across the US, with preference for those in San Francisco or New York City.
Bonus Points For:
Prior experience as a Founding AE or first sales hire
Familiarity with modern data stack tools (ETL, data governance, analytics, ML platforms)
Experience navigating long enterprise sales cycles with compliance and procurement steps
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary of $125K-$150K with OTE of $250K-$300K (uncapped commission)
