Overview
We are seeking a skilled Site Superintendent with proven experience in substation construction to oversee day-to-day site operations on large-scale utility projects. The ideal candidate will manage crews, subcontractors, and field activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
This role requires hands-on leadership in the field and a strong background coordinating the construction of high-voltage substations (69kV-500kV).
Key Responsibilities
Direct and supervise all on-site construction activities for substation projects.
Lead field crews, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
Coordinate daily work schedules, monitor progress, and resolve field issues to keep projects on track.
Enforce and promote company and client safety policies, including OSHA and utility standards.
Conduct site inspections, safety meetings, and quality checks.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and schedules.
Ensure materials, equipment, and manpower are available to meet project deadlines.
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients and inspectors.
Qualifications
7 years of field construction experience, with at least 3 years supervising substation construction projects.
Strong understanding of high-voltage substation systems, equipment, and installation practices.
Ability to lead crews of 10-30 workers and coordinate multiple subcontractors.
Proven track record of maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality work environments.
Proficiency with project documentation, daily reports, and scheduling tools.
OSHA 30 required; First Aid/CPR and other utility certifications preferred.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel or relocate to project sites as needed.
