Position: Vice President of Operations
Location: Flexible within service territory; some travel required
Reports To: CEO/President
Overview:
The Vice President of Operations will oversee all operational aspects of power and utility services, including O&M execution, project delivery, safety performance, financial oversight, and customer satisfaction. This leader will ensure operational excellence across multiple sites, manage cross-functional teams, and drive strategic growth initiatives in line with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day operations for all O&M and field service activities across multiple power/utility sites.
Oversee project execution for maintenance, outage planning, commissioning support, and reliability programs.
Manage operational budgets, P&L accountability, and resource allocation for maximum efficiency and profitability.
Ensure strict compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships; act as a key point of escalation for major operational issues.
Drive operational best practices, workforce development, and process standardization across teams.
Support strategic planning, growth initiatives, and new business integration efforts.
Collaborate with Engineering, Business Development, and HR on staffing, training, and talent development.
Qualifications:
10-15 years in power generation, utilities, or industrial O&M leadership roles.
Proven experience managing large teams and multi-site operations.
Strong background in safety compliance, budget/P&L management, and customer relations.
Experience with power plants, substations, transmission/distribution, or similar assets.
Ability to travel 25-50% as required.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA a plus.
