Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Skills: Linux, Unix, Red Hat, PXE, Puppet, Python, Shell, HPC, GPFS, DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes, Git, SVN, TeamCity, Jenkins, Confluence, GIT, SQL

Salary: €75,000 - €100,000 (+ 20-30% bonus)

The Role

Do you want to work for one of the world's most established international trading companies? Do you want the chance to work with bleeding edge technologies that are constantly evolving? Do you want to work on some of the most challenging and complex infrastructures within IT? You've come to the right place. High performance algorithms, smart strategies and collaborative teams are the core of this business.

FPGAs are at the core of achieving low latency, which is crucial for a highly available infrastructure that secures trades to the nano-second, and is crucial to keeping their trading strategies above all competition. You will be utilising your expertise in FPGA or ASIC design, with a core focus on latency above all else. Efficient RTL designs with Verliog or SystemVerilog accelerate trading decisions beyond what is perceived as their theoretical limits. You take full responsibility of the complete solution, find ways to increase productivity, improve verification, and measure/monitor your solutions. Automation first is the mindset here, so you will utilise SystemVerilog, Verilog, C++ and Python for their systems, automating testing and verification for example. Finally, networking understanding fundamentals is crucial as the exchanges connect Ethernet.

Linux, Unix, Red Hat, PXE, Puppet, Python, Shell, HPC, GPFS, DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes, Git, SVN, TeamCity, Jenkins, Confluence, GIT, SQL

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years' experience of FPGA/ASIC design, testing and verification module design.
  • Experience working with hardware development tools.
  • System Verilog/Verilog, C++, and Python experience.
  • Linux knowledge.
  • Experience with basic networking.
  • Financial/Trading knowledge is a good nice to have.

The Company

Having been operating for over 30 years, this company is at the forefront of their industry, not just within the Netherlands, but internationally, and have presence in Asia, Europe, and the US. They are constantly standing on the cutting edge of financial applications, processing terabytes of data daily for mission-critical trading, and for many, the daily problem solving, and complexity of systems are the best many engineers have encountered.

In your first two years you will grow your already fantastic salary even further, earning 20-30% of your salary in bonuses ON TOP of your base, and here, your bonuses increase annually, with employees earning over half their salaries in bonuses after 4 years and some even doubling it later down the line! But, besides salary, the opportunity to improve your skills is unrivalled. There is no limit on your educational allowance at this business. If it will improve your skills and career, it will be funded. It is that simple. This business wants all their employees to have the chance to exponentially grow and achieve their goals.

The flat structure at this company means that no matter your position in the business, your idea will be listened to. If your suggestion is better than the team lead with 20 years' experience, then it's your suggestion that is used! This is also apparent in their relaxed and informal culture as a company, and their regular outings, social events, seasonal parties, and company holidays for all employees reflects this! If your health is important to you, then you will be glad to know that delicious healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner are all provided here, as well as your gym membership. Finally, pension, disability and health insurance will all be covered. Not bad huh?
